Purpose of the Degree

The purpose of the BCom degree with specialisation in Human Resource Management is to equip students with relevant knowledge and skills to enable them to staff the organisation, design and analyse jobs, develop employees, identify approaches to improve performance, reward employees and maintain sound labour relations. Critical issues addressed in the modules are globalisation, embracing new technology, developing human capital and competitive advantage through people.

This specialised degree will open the door to career opportunities as personnel practitioner or consultants, human resource managers, training managers, compensation managers and labour relations managers.

How it Works

The method of teaching this course is highly innovative. We call it “locally supported distance education” : learning through University supplied materials and MDC SA administration and resource centres. It is based on MDC SA “On-location” method of teaching which is so successful for postgraduate study here in the Middle East.
